SMUD Rebates – High Efficiency Heat Pump Program
Are you a SMUD customer wanting to take advantage of the SMUD Rebates High Efficiency Heat Pump Program? If so, you are in luck. SMUD Rebates are up to $500 on a qualified new high efficiency Heat Pump.
The Sacramento weather definitely provides its fair share of cold nights and HOT days. As a result, heating and cooling bills can be quite high and many people are looking for ways to save money on their energy bills. One way you can help lower your energy consumption is to upgrade your heating and cooling system to a new energy efficient Heat Pump.
Ratings Required for High Efficiency SMUD Rebates
In order to be eligible to receive SMUD Rebates from the SMUD High Efficiency Heat Pump Program, there are specific Energy Star efficiency ratings that must be met. If you are purchasing a split system heat pump, it must have minimum efficiency ratings of 14.5 SEER, 12.0 EER and 8.5 HSPF. In addition, the outdoor unit and the indoor coil must be matched and replaced together when you install a new system to ensure peak efficiency. If you are installing a packaged system, the requirements for the minimum rebate are 14.0 SEER, 11.0 EER and 8.0 HSPF. If your home was built 10 to 15 years ago, chances are your SEER rating is around 10.0. Think how much more efficient a new Heat Pump could be and how that might lower your energy bills. The definitions for these efficiency ratings and types of Heat Pump systems are reviewed on our website under both air conditioning and heating categories.
